“As for us, we have this large crowd of witnesses around us.  So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and of the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us.  Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end.”                Hebrews 12:1-2a

I’ve been fulltime staff since 2004.  I enjoy working with all the ‘great cloud of witnesses’ at Trinity and in our surrounding communities.

Hello Trinity Family! I am excited to be part of the Trinity Staff and hope this new endeavor with be a great benefit to all! A bit about me and my family; I grew up in Blue Earth.  My Husband, Joel and I became members of Trinity and were married in 1996.  Our two Sons, Chandler and Parker, were baptized and confirmed at Trinity.  Our family is rounded out by Charlie, our  3 Y.O. I have been actively involved with our Church for many years, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Chaperoning for several Youth Whitewater and Winter Retreat trips, Singing with the Adult Choir and working with the Education Committee and our Church Council. More recently, I had the amazing privilege to teach 2nd grade Release Time and be an Adult Leader for the ELCA Youth Gathering Trip to Houston, TX.   (My profile picture, to the left, is Miss Gabby and me.  This was taken on the last Sunday Morning of the Houston Trip.)

My Job scope is Ministry Support; supporting Pastor Jeanette and Donna. Current Project include Sanctuary Technology updates.   I am looking forward to working alongside you, to maintain current programs and create opportunities that will help Trinity grow and prosper.

  • Sheila Hanke, Education Coordinator (Birth to 5th Grade)

My husband and I returned to our native Minnesota to raise our son near family.  I love being a mom!  I have worked in the non-profit and government worlds my entire life.   In the museum field, I worked as a teacher, registrar, conservator and field technician. Upon returning to Minnesota, I was drawn to a career change focusing on education.  I substitute taught at schools while raising my son.  This motivated me to create a non-profit which focused on offering low cost early childhood programs and outreach opportunities to a very diverse demographic. I am passionate about early childhood learning and developing programs that nurture brain development.  I have a Masters degree from the University of Oklahoma and interned at the Smithsonian.  This was supplemented by additional training from the National Museum of Prague.  I have multiple post-bachelor certificates that support working with children.  I was drawn to Trinity Lutheran Church for their strong support of learning, welcoming faith practice, and commitment to positive change.  Trinity Lutheran Church is improving its congregation and community one outreach program at a time.  I am excited to be a part of that outreach!
